Pedestrian Mall Conversions

Brodie played a pivotal role in two transformative pedestrian mall projects at Santa Clara University. Brodie collaborated with the University and the City of Santa Clara to revamp the industrial Franklin Street corridor into a pedestrian-friendly link, as part of the North Campus redevelopment. This involved intricate design management, zoning adjustments, and navigating construction in a historically significant neighborhood with artifacts dating back to the Mission period. Brodie also led the conversion of the campus’s main thoroughfare into the picturesque Abby Sobrato Mall. Working closely with city officials and university representatives, Brodie oversaw every stage of this project, from conceptualization and permitting to completion.
